In fall 2010 a new festival will start in Rotterdam. The theme of the festival is working in the Port of the future. My design is based on old sailor tattoos and robots.
This animation was born to promote the organization LAT (Living Apart Together). The idea of this commercial is the creative power of two cultures working together for a higher purpose by making a new landscape for growth and development.

Gallery BLAAK10 asked me to make a product for their basement sale at the Museumnight in Rotterdam. I created six coffee cups with an illustration of little red riding hood. I still got a few cups so if your interested, send me an email and for €10 this special item is yours!
This Nick JR. wake up call animation was created in collaboration with animator Jurriën Boogert . This is one movie for an identity concept for the morning shows for Nickelodeon.
Brands show us a way of life and tell us how to dress cool for example. But what if a brand should be a person? What should he look like? This is the lifestyle of whiskey brand Jack Daniels translated in a man. This illustration was made for publication.
I created an identity font for Joris Budel (versch ontwerp) that is based on his paper size tattoo. Every letter can be folded by his own made grid. The type will be used in pictures and photos.
Every year NSJ asked the WdKA to create a poster for their Jazz festival. I made a series of posters created by simple basic elements, the same way jazz can be played.
To convince young students to come to the WdKA to study illustration me and some of my illustration students were asked to make a big character that could be showed for the open house days at the academy.
In freshman year of my academic career I created my first cut-out animation. It’s a combination of 2D en 3D elements that made this short story possible.
A book inspired by graphic design hero David Carson made in 2007, bases on the Helvetica documentary. I used his wise words to create some typographic pages.
A typographic poster based on the movement of the body. The moves are taken from a Bollywood movie and translated by using the same dance moves from an American movie clip. The words that are spoken during the similar movements create new lyrics.
The sale in the WdKA was such a big success that the same concept was taken outside the academy to Gallery BLAAK10. This was a big project with the complete illustration department. The second edition of my Little red riding hood book was sold pretty well…
In preparation of the WILLEM, de klant is Kooning exposition a series of black “designer” shirts were made. Silk printed with the logo that is based on the famous IKEA font.
For the sale/exposition WILLEM, de klant is Kooning this book was made in a series of twelve. A children’s book that is printed on transpired paper so page can be seen together. This way a story doesn’t hide any facts. The second edition of the book is still for sale fro €5,- so send me an email!
Well, it’s an illustration. But I made it in to a pop-up book. The subject was lust and I used the apple as an icon. That’s the reason I picked the Bible story of Adam and Eve.
